Welcome to the Joy of New Music
Joy of New Music, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 performing arts organization dedicated to bringing newly composed and rarely heard musical and dramatic works to audiences young and old alike around the world.

Founded in 2004 by soprano Patricia Sonego and pianist/harpsichordist Dr. Michael Eisenberg, the organization has received generous Grants from the New York State Council on the Arts as well as the Brooklyn Arts Council to produce concerts in under-served communities throughout New York City.

Ensemble Le Nuove MusicheEnsemble Le Nuove Musiche
Under the musical direction of its founder Dr. Michael Eisenberg, Le Nuove Musiche is the ensemble-in-residence for Joy of New Music. Featuring music from the 16th through 21st centuries, Le Nuove Musiche ensemble members often perform on historical instruments like the harpsichord, baroque violin, baroque cello, theorbo, lute, recorder, and a variety of percussion instruments. The ensemble's principal singer is soprano Patricia Sonego, whose flexible lyric coloratura voice can deliver the dramatic,  melismatic songs of the early baroque as well as the atonal sonorities and textures of the avant garde.
Keeping the rich musical traditions of the past alive alongside those of the present, Le Nuove Musiche delights and educates audiences of all ages in concert halls, schools, and at private occasions. Children, and many adults too, are thrilled to see a harpsichord or a theorbo up close. It is the tradition of the Ensemble to spend some time after each concert answering questions and introducing their instruments.
